Bread and Soup Nite


Bread and Soup Nite is here again!
Every first Monday of the month The Community Engagement Center, hosted by SUU, provides bread, soup, and desserts for the community and students of SUU. To eat bring $2 and a non perishable food item, or $3 without. Bread and Soup Nite not only provides a hot meal for the community, but the food and money raised helps support the Hope Pantry, located in the Community Engagement Center on campus. Come this Monday, November 4th, to the SUU Ballroom on campus at 7:00pm to enjoy food, fellowship, and fun!

Alternative Breaks: SANTA FE

Join us in Santa Fe!

Alternative Breaks are community service-learning trips during winter and spring breaks. Our first Habitat for Humanity trip this school year will be held in Santa Fe, New Mexico! Santa Fe is one of the oldest cities in the U.S., home to world-class museums, local New Mexican cuisine and charm of old-world New Mexico's adobe architecture. Despite its riches, Santa Fe faces a lack of Affordable housing. Therefore, as well as enjoying what New Mexico has to offer, students will be working with Habitat for Humanity to build family housing.

The trip cost covers everything, housing, food, transportation and travelers insurance, souvenirs will come out of your own pocket. When you register for a trip you will be charged a registration fee $80-225 after your registration fee has been paid your spot on the trip is reserved. the remainder of your trip must be paid by various deadlines that fit your particular needs. payment plans and scholarships are available.

Sub for Santa


Want to get an early start on Christmas?
 So do we! 
Sub for Santa, a program hosted by the Community Engagement Center, helps provide Christmas for the local children of Iron County. Each year fundraisers are held to raise money, toys, and clothing for families in need. There are many different opportunities to participate in these fundraisers. A schedule of the date, time, and place for future events is listed below. There will be a meeting held at the Community Engagement Center to inform and recruit volunteers. It will be held on Wednesday, October 23rd at 5:30 pm.

Welcoming Fall

What a beautiful October first! This month brings perfect weather, home football games, Halloween, and many great service opportunities! Not only do we have our monthly contributions like, Bread & Soup Nite and the Hope Pantry, but also service opportunities such as Wee Swim and After School Sports are starting this month. These activities are great ways to gain service hours, assist your community, and have fun with your peers!
